Scope of Policies

This policy involves all company employees, regardless of their hierarchical level or the particularities of their position. It also includes suppliers, customers, the community, and any person connected with the activities carried out by the company.

Sustainability Policy Commitments

1. To promote the development and growth of the company while committing ourselves to environmental protection, an understanding of the natural resources used, and the cultures of the communities we visit.

2. To educate visitors on environmental and cultural issues related to the areas where the company operates.

3. To ensure that our employees are sustainability-conscious through continuous education and regular updates on new sustainability information, considering both medium- and long-term effects.

4. To design sociocultural operational policies that promote the rational and sustainable use of our natural and cultural heritage.

5. To promote compliance with current legislation applicable to our activities in all areas.

Specific Sustainability Policies

1- We declare our commitment to avoiding any type of extraction or commercialization of flora, fauna, and archaeological items, as prohibited by law.

2- All employees will receive training on the company's sustainability policies. This training will be provided to both new staff and experienced employees, covering operational and administrative tasks, in order to ensure positive performance by the entire team.

3- The company will design an annual training plan for its employees, with emphasis on topics that help employees better serve customers, such as: legislation applicable to the company, current tourism trends, service to people with disabilities, respect for our cultural and natural heritage, information of interest related to customers' countries of origin, and in general any issue that fosters the professional development of our employees, through introductory sessions and support/coaching in new skills and management tools. This will be done within the framework of our commitment to sustainability, thereby contributing to customer satisfaction and staff professional growth.

4- We will defend and protect our boys, girls, and adolescents against any form of sexual exploitation and prostitution. We will report any illegal activity of which we become aware, and educate our employees, suppliers, and customers on this issue.

5- We will foster a healthy work environment free of illegal drugs. Our activities are family-oriented, so we will report to the corresponding authorities any illegal activity of which we become aware, including the consumption or sale of illicit substances.

6- As a company whose guided tours visit various sites of interest, we will select these places taking into account their sustainability conditions, such as conservation programs and plans to protect flora and fauna species, in order to offer our visitors a complete Costa Rican experience.

7- Our guides will have all certifications required by law. We will keep these certifications current by updating guides on various technical topics, such as equipment use, emergency techniques, information about the areas visited by our customers, legal aspects, and any other relevant information for the company within its sustainable approach.

8- In each of our tourism activities, the company will offer promotions aimed at Costa Ricans. This preferential treatment seeks to foster the development of social tourism as a strategy to mitigate the effects of tourist seasonality, as well as promote education and involvement in conservation efforts carried out in our operating areas.

9- We will prioritize local suppliers of biodegradable, reusable, and organic products that do not contain pollutants or ingredients harmful to human health or the environment. Likewise, we will give preference to suppliers with ISO certification.

10- Each activity aimed at tourists will have an operational manual, which will include technical aspects of the tour, the guide-to-tourist ratio, and whether the guide will require additional support for the group. In all cases, we will work with small groups in order to avoid a negative impact on the environment or visited areas.

11- All our land and water vehicles are equipped to carry out tourism activities. They will be properly registered, and we will maintain them in accordance with the law. Customers will be covered by the company's insurance policy as long as they use the vehicles appropriately.

12- The equipment used in tourism activities will have a checklist regarding basic conditions and vehicle safety. Employees must inspect the condition of the vehicle based on this list, as well as its design.

13- We commit to reducing, reusing, and recycling in our daily operations. We will reuse paper products whenever possible and leverage technology to reduce physical shipments. We manage our own waste by separating recyclable materials and also taking advantage of recycling campaigns promoted by the municipality. We will place reminders in our facilities to encourage tourists to recycle and not pollute the areas we visit.

14- We commit to respecting the rules and regulations established within protected areas, as well as promoting good practices in all other areas where we carry out our activities. To this end, we will develop a basic guide of good visiting practices, aimed at both customers and staff, to strengthen responsible behavior toward the ecosystems we visit.

15- We are in favor of conserving archaeological and cultural heritage. Therefore, we will avoid and report any activity of which we become aware that leads to the loss or commercialization of archaeological and cultural items.

16- We comply with all current legislation, including Law No. 7600 on equal opportunities for people with disabilities. We will not discriminate in hiring personnel, and we will offer equal opportunities to all candidates who meet the job requirements.

17- We are a socially responsible company. We will strive to provide access for all employees and customers in accordance with Law No. 7600. We will have accessible vehicles and activities for people with disabilities, striving to make each activity attractive to interested customers.

18- We commit to measuring and regularly monitoring our consumption of water, energy, and other resources, as well as our waste generation. These records will allow us to identify improvement opportunities and propose short-, medium-, and long-term reduction targets that are coherent and feasible for our operations.
