About the tour
On behalf of our ancestors, the Quepoa Indians, we welcome you to our native territory! Little trace of their culture and lifestyle may remain, but our region is still blessed with the pristine rainforests they used to inhabit, as well as the rich fertile soil for agriculture they themselves used. Now, we have the great opportunity to grow as a thriving community based on ecotourism and agriculture.
In this tour you will have the opportunity to go where few tourists visit, and acquire a wealth of historical information about our region and our country. You'll learn about our education system, national park system, social security, religion and other local customs. You'll also learn about the socio-economic impact of the United Fruit Company in our region, its arrival, departure, and the successful arrival and triumph of Ecotourism. Our experienced bilingual guide will provide information, tell you stories and answer any questions you may have. The tour will take you to a local school in a little finca (farm) surrounded by African palm oil where you will gain detailed insight into the school and you will be able to ask pertinent questions.
We continue at a small butterfly center to enjoy a snack and learn more about this interesting project. Additionally, we include a visit to the farmers market on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. We recommend you try the exotic fruits such as the antioxidant rich “Granadilla” (Passiflora).

◆ The Quepos Farmer's Market takes place on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings: if you'd like to visit the market as part of your tour, take this information into account when making your reservation.
General Pricing Policies
The minimum number of people to operate a tour from Manuel Antonio, Jaco and Dominical is 2 people (except for our "Rainmaker Rainforest Hiking" and "Carara National Park" tours, where the minimum is 4 people, and the "Iguana Catamaran & Snorkeling" tour, where the minimum is 6 people).
If the minimum is not met, the amount for the minimum number of people will be charged. Rates for customers in Dominical, between Uvita and Cristal Ballena, are based on a minimum of 4 people.
Rates for private tours are calculated based on a minimum of 6 people. Each person above this must pay an additional fee.
- All children under the age of 6 are free of charge.
- However, for National Park tours, children under 6 must still pay the full National Park entrance fee.
- All children 6 years and older pay full net rate.
- All children must be under adult supervision.

In order to guarantee your reservation we do require that, on the day of the tour, you or your clients (in the case of travel agencies) show us a copy of your/their voucher, which shows us the prepayment amount and any other specific details needed for their Iguana Tours adventure.
- Important: Please let us know in advance about any medical conditions or accessibility needs so we can ensure a safe and inclusive tour experience.
- If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, especially for tours that include meals or snacks, please inform us ahead of time.
- If you are traveling with children, please provide their ages.
If necessary, please submit cancellations by telephone, e-mail, or Whatsapp.
There will be no refunds on cancellations made less than 48 hours before the confirmed pick-up time for any tour.
For group tours, there are no refunds on cancellations made 7 days before the date of the tour.

Because we respect and protect our animals, the maximum weight allowed for the horseback riding tours is 200 lbs or 90 kg.
